Joe and I had the pleasure of playing at a ball for University of Queensland held at Hillstone, St. Lucia. It was for Mining Engineering and Speech Pathology/Audiology from my memory. Everyone looked absolutely amazing, it had been a while since I had to do such a glamorous gig so it was fun.
It was also nice to have a good quality PA system to play through. Joe and I haven’t done an acoustic duet since we first started out so we had our fun throughout the night too. Although it was cold and rainy and I wanted to be wrapped up in a blanket, it was a really well-planned event. Hillstone is a gorgeous venue.
After our set, we decided to enjoy the Photobooth and then go to Southbank to grab some grub from Southside Diner (Classic American food). I warmed myself up with a triple Pecorino mac’n’cheese and a basket of sweet potato fries! YUM.
I’ve also been dabbling in leather making to get my mind off and doing things other than work or music. My first project was a wallet, which is quite imperfect but I’ll get there. The leather was superbly thick for a cardholder so I’ll have to get some thinner ones!
Hoping to eventually make a laptop sleeve and then a satchel.. haha high hopes I guess.
We’re up to Day 6 of the Album #2 Campaign and I have just been completely overwhelmed by the support and encouragement from everyone. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making my dream a reality. We’re up to 40% funded with 30 days left! I am still crazily nervous about whether I will hit the mark, I’ve been hearing of all the crowd funding campaign disasters.
